School of Economics Field Trip- We will continue to prepare for our field trip by completing activities within our "shop" groups. The field trip is on Thursday. We will need some extra time to get there in the morning in order to arrive on time. Therefore, it is very important that ALL students are at school on Thursday
before the 8:50 bell rings. The buses will need to be pulling away from the school at about that time. So please have your child here on time (or a few minutes early) on Thursday.
Hot dogs will be provided as a lunch that day, along with a few other snacks that the students will get to purchase from the different "shops." If your child does not eat hot dogs, please feel free to send them with a sack lunch. We are looking forward to a very fun and educational day. Thanks to the 9 parents from our class that are helping to chaperone this trip! :)
Math- We have started learning about
fractions and will complete Topic 9 with a test on Friday.
Spelling/Vocabulary- Students will receive a new spelling/ vocabulary list this week. The final test will be on Jan. 24. The vocabulary words are related to geography and mapping. Here is the link to Spelling City to practice the words:

Students will be learning about geography through their research. They will also practice using various mapping skills, knowing the difference betweeen types of maps and globes, as well as learning the names of the continents and oceans.
Reading/ Writing- Students will begin to research the country of your family's ancestry. They will organize their research into topics and practice notetaking using books and the internet as resources.
Have a wonderful week!!
